PowerColor’s newly upcoming Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound graphics card is a custom-designed model which is expected to reach higher power input and higher clocks compared to its predecessor. We collected some new data and information straight from Videocardz. That website has managed to find the specs of the Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound custom flavored graphics card.
The Clock Speeds Of Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound Custom Design Graphics Card Is Boosted By PowerColor But It Also Requires Higher Power And We Need A Higher Wattage Power Supply
The upcoming RDNA 2 graphics card (GPU) refresh from AMD is expected to feature several custom design models from AIBs. Since a few of these graphics card models have already leaked, we have not really known about the power and clocks numbers that these GPU variants will provide. However, it looks like the website named Videocardz has some details of the AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound graphics card from PowerColor, which is a custom design graphics card that will target the mainstream graphics card segment. So we can expect the PowerColor Radeon RX 6500 XT can be the best 6500 XT GPU.
The PowerColor Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound graphics card is said to come with the GPU named Navi 23 XT along with a total number of 2048 cores bunch inside of 32 Compute Units. Now when the configuration of the GPU is similar across the two graphics cards (AMD RX 6600 XT and AMD RX 6650 XT), the power and internal clocks limits have been modified a little bit. The graphics card will feature a double BIOS profile, one BIOS profile is for the OC mode and the other BIOS profile is for the silent mode.
With the silent mode BIOS profile, the PowerColor’s Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound graphics card will operate at the reference clocks of 2635 MHz Boost and 2410 MHz Game. The OC mode BIOS profile features even higher clock speeds of 2689 MHz Boost compared to the 2593 MHz on 6600 XT Hellhound graphics card and 2486 MHz Game compared to the 2382 MHz on 6600 XT Hellhound graphics card. That is a 3.7% increase in boost and a 4.4% increase in Game clocks compared to the PowerColor Radeon RX 6600 XT Hellhound graphics card. We can expect Radeon RX 6500 XT video encoding will be very impressive.
As for memory, the 128-bit of bus interface and the 8 GB of memory capacity are not completely going away, but the clock speeds are surely going to be boosted to 17.5 Gbps to achieve a significant bandwidth of 280 GB/s compared to the 256 GB/s of the existing model GPU. This is an increase of 9% and both the memory and core clocks combined well to end up offering a decent 5% to10% performance boost while gaming.
Also, an interesting part is that the Radeon RX 6650 XT graphics card won’t be using its full 18 Gbps dies such as the other two AMD’s RDNA 2 refreshed graphics cards (GPU). We may see higher memory pin and clocks speeds for the Devil variant flagship graphics card but that still not be confirmed at the present moment.
PowerColor Radeon RX 6600 XT Hellhound vs Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound:
- GPU Game Clock: 2382 MHz vs 2486 MHz
- GPU Boost Clock: 2593 MHz vs 2689 MHz
- Memory Clocks: 16.0 Gbps vs 17.5 Gbps
- Total Bandwidth: 256 GB/s vs 280 GB/s
The boosted clocks also need more power and energy. Therefore it looks like the PowerColor is suggesting users to a 600 W Power Supply Unit instead of a 500 W Power Supply Unit (PSU) which is currently recommended for the Radeon RX 6600 XT Hellhound. So it could be expected that the GPU’s TBP has gone up a little bit from the 160 W power that the current graphics card features. The custom variant of this graphics card will rock a dual-slot cooler and dual-fan with a custom-designed PCB. This graphics card will also come with a backplate. The graphics card will rock a single connector of 8-pin because the TBP has to remain within a limit of 225 W.
PowerColor Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound price
We can expect the PowerColor Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound graphics card will come with a slightly higher price tag compared to the 867 USD for PowerColor Radeon RX 6600 XT Hellhound graphics card.
PowerColor Radeon RX 6650 XT Hellhound release date
The RDNA 2 refresh graphics cards from AMD are expected to release on the 10th of May. So after the launch, more details are surely expected to be revealed in the upcoming days of future.
Is 6500 XT good for mining?
The AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT is an entry-level budget graphics card. But for mining, you need a powerful graphics card that is capable to generate a good hash rate. Therefore the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT graphics card is not good for mining cryptocurrency because it uses very high power and generates a very low hash rate. Therefore your electricity bill will be high and you will not able to make a profit margin. So we do not recommend AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT graphics card for mining. AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT graphics card is good for mining.
